Visiting Santa

On Friday night we went to the mall for dinner. I packed 2 Christmas shirts just on the off chance that Santa might be there. He was! After a quick changeroo we had the kids in line and ready to see The Big Guy.

Sissy is an old pro by now.

We weren't too sure how Brother was going to react. Last year he didn't cry but he was definitely giving Santa the ol' lazy eye.

There he is!

Matthew went right up and talked and talked and talked! Hopped right up on his lap like they were old friends!
(In the real picture we purchased Madeline's eyes are open! My luck that they would be closed on the one I took)

Jeff said Matthew was so at ease he pictured him saying to Santa "So what kind of gas mileage are you getting with that sleigh?"

And just for kicks, here's what it was like with Madeline at 18 mo...........

Thanksgiving 2010

We went up to Decatur for Thanksgiving this year at Ma Maw's house. Jeff thinks Matthew's shirt looks like a lumberjack and Uncle Tommy said he could be the Brawny guy on the paper towels, but I think it looks cute.

Madeline and Ma Maw.

Helping Daddy read the paper.

Uncle Jason jumped right in to the kid's craft table and helped them make pictures with glitter glue.

Nan and Jason on their first married Thanksgiving.

Ma Maw with all her grandbabies. We tried to recreate an older picture of them now that Matthew has joined the family.

Sidney brought a bike for Madeline that is a little bigger than the one she's been practicing on. Thanks Sid!

Emily brought her flag corp flag to practice.

Hanna playing with Matthew.

Practicing gymnastics.

Hanna and Emily.

Good times!

All played out.

Funnies From Matthew

Madeline and Matthew in the backseat on the way to school this morning:
"You're Fluffy!"
"I not fluffy! I Matthew!"
"You're Fluffy Matthew!"
"o.k"

After repeatedly telling Matthew NOT to touch the ornaments on the Christmas tree and only to look he saw Madeline putting an ornament back on that had fallen off and yelled "NO TOUCH SISSY!!! ONLY LOOK!!!!"

Thanksgiving Party

Madeline's class had a Thanksgiving party on Tuesday. The kids were allowed to come to school dressed as either an indian or a pilgrim.

The party food came from Cracker Barrel, the baked apples were divine!

The kids played pin the tail on the turkey. Madeline was chosen to be the first to go because she was sitting so quietly. That's her teacher, Mrs. Sokol in the orange Auburn shirt (War Eagle!).

As you can see, Madeline's feather was no where near the turkey! ha ha But she was so excited to have been picked first that she didn't care.

The did leaf rubbings and wrote what they were thankful for. Madeline's said she was thankful for family and friends.

They made these napkin rings too. Madeline's was very colorful, her teacher commented on it more than once.
Happy Thanksgiving to all!!

Montgomery Zoo

After the birthday party we headed to the zoo, so much fun!

Can't walk by the playground without stopping.

Rhino!

I always take the kids picture beside this height chart, it's fun to look back on and see how they grow.

The lions were very vocal while we were there, you can hear them from far away.

I took this just for Jeff. The next time you see him ask him what the difference is between and girl lion and a boy lion. It's a classic, you can't make this stuff up.

Snack bags from the birthday party were a lifesaver! THANK YOU AMANDA!

Happy Birthday Blake!

Saturday we went down to Montgomery for Blake's 2nd birthday.

It was a fireman theme and so cute!

Matthew liked to lick his frosting off with his fingers.

Blake just skipped the fingers part!

Madeline went for the one with the most decorations stuck in it.

The birthday boy and Aunt Melanie

John, Amanda, Claire and Blake

Claire, Madeline and Camille

Blake got this great plush dinosaur and rock house play set, the girls quickly took off with it and gathered in the playhouse outside to break it in.

This ESPN baseball set was a big hit. We are definitely getting Matthew one!

Matthew tested out their slide quite a bit.

Madeline let the squash wear her fireman hat, it fit pretty good!
