Traffic Cones

If you haven't seen Toy Story 2, you might not be familiar with the part where Buzz and the gang hide under orange traffic cones to cross the street.

This morning as we were walking into the daycare Matthew thought Buzz and friends were under these cones!

So we had to go check them out and look underneath them, but we didn't find Buzz Lightyear!

It reminded me of the time when Daddy had to pull over on the road once to prove to me that the reflectors in the middle of the road were NOT hot dogs like I insisted. =)

Since I had my camera I took a quick pic of him in his classroom showing me a dinosaur. He had waited all week for them to get the dinosaurs out and this morning there they were ready for him!

Garden Progress

Mother's tiger lillies have begun to bloom!

With all of the rain our garden has rebounded. This is the canteloupe:

First Movie!

While Sissy was in Decatur we took Matthew to his first movie at a theater, Cars 2.

He was too interested in the backdrop to look at the camera.......

Giving his ticket to the 'movie Miss'.

He held his ticket stub for a long time.

He made it 1/2 way through the movie and then we had to leave. He lost interest and was running every where, screaming, etc. Still a little too young for theaters that aren't in Disney World! ha ha

He did find a lot of things to do in the arcade though....

Slumber Party At MaMaw's

Saturday I met Sue in Cullman so Madeline could go back to Decatur with her and have a spend the night at her house. Sidney came from Florence too. Madeline was over the moon as anything she gets to do away from parents is fun to her now!

We took MaMaw her belated birthday gift......

She really wanted one of Madeline's canvases to hang at her house.

Madeline and Sidney loading her bags in the car.

They had a full weekend. There was the park.......

a museum.... (Emily was able to come too!)

the mall...... they rode the carousel and discovered a treasure trove in Claire's Boutique. I wonder if an ear piercing is in our future.

I have a deep fear of taxidermied animals and get the heebies if I'm in a room with one. These pictures had me in a cold sweat.

Especially this one!! Eeeekkk!!!

Gak!!! That bear creeps me out!

Great ending to a fun weekend! They made bracelets, baked cookies and had a fashion show!

Good Times In Brundidge

On Sunday we went down to Pop's to celebrate Father's Day and visit family. The kids had a great time out on the front porch swing!

Hot Shot 'just a swangin'.

Claire, Amanda & Blake.

Birthday Girl turned 8 that day too!

I just realized that I only had my camera out while the kids were on the swing, so I have no pictures of anything else all day! Oh well.

Dominos

This week I introduced Madeline to playing dominos. Dee and I would play for hours when I was her age so I thought she would enjoy it.

She's up for any kind of game play!

Madeline and Dee

Madeline got to do a free choice painting in her art class this year. She brought in a picture Dee had recently painted of a little bird on a branch and then painted her version.
Below is Madeline's:

And this is the original by Dee:

This week Madeline is taking another art class from 5:45-7:15 every day and she is loving it. They are learning clay sculpture/glazes and more acrylics on canvas.

Ready Water Day at daycare!

Happy Birthday Madeline!

Since the slumber party didn't go as planned, we never got to do the mud mask facials. So, I put one on Madeline Saturday when we celebrated her birthday at home. Her real birthday was Sunday but since that was Father's Day as well and we would be out of town, we did our family celebrating on Saturday.

She opened gifts that came in the mail. This Junie B. Jones journal from MaMaw was her fave, she loved it!

Spa towel/head wrap set from the girls.

Then she had to put it all on and write in her journal!

We took her to Carrabba's for lunch, it's her fave place to eat. Here she is getting settled in with some fried zucchini sticks, bread and olive oil dipping sauce!

Matthew gets creative when he gets bored. This would be his noodle/ketchup creation.

Outside the restaurant.
