Matthew Carter's Baptism Sunday, June 28, 2009 Riverchase United Methodist Church

Matthew's Baptism was at the start of the 11:00 service. When the minsiter was asking Jeff and I to affirm the statements during the Baptism Matthew would shake his head 'no no', he was hamming it up. After the service everyone came back to our house for lunch and to visit. It was a busy but fun day.

Zoo Days!

Wednesday was a field trip with Madeline's Summer Fun class to the Birmingham Zoo. I think it was about 98 degrees that day! They all had fun and we had a picnic lunch there. Every time I go to that zoo I am glad that we decided to join the Montgomery Zoo instead, which is so much nicer. Here are fun pics:

Just got a call from the school that Madeline had punched a boy in the stomach and they wanted me to talk to her. Turns out the boy was being rough and not letting Madeline by to get into the space bounce AND the teacher had told the kids not to talk to her while she was on the cell phone. Anyone see a problem with this situation? I told them that if there was not a teacher available to settle the dispute and the boy was being rough then, no, I would not be punishing Madeline at home for this. I told them to let her stay in the office to finish her time out for hitting but that was to be the end of it.
So hard to walk that fine line with girls of standing up for themselves or being a push over. So far Madeline has shown that she is not a doormat! ha ha

For some odd reason the curtains are fascinating to Matthew. He now will go to them, grab hold and look back at me with a big grin because he knows he's not allowed to play with them!

Yesterday Madeline had a birthday box of gifts from Lollie/Aunt Colleen. She was so excited! It was sparkly jewelry and Hannah Montana doll and microphone! She is insisting on wearing the Hannah Montana costume on our next Disney World trip as the size was 5-7 so it will fit if we go in 2010! She also wanted to wear it to vacation Bible school this week, but I said no. ha ha
