Moundville Field Trip

Wednesday Madeline's class went to Moundville for the Native American festival, they are currently studying about the Indians in class. I'll just say that at least the kids seemed to enjoy it...... parents not so much.
waiting to load onto the bus.

scrubbing shells on stones to create holes for stringing a necklace.

the finished necklace.

making Indian headbands.

supposed to be Indian war paint.....

corn husk dolls.

So many of the kids bought these Indian flutes at the craft stands.... the bus ride home could have been disatrous had the teacher not made them all hand them over until we got back to school. I don't think I could have taken 60 kids blasting flutes in a bus for 45min.

Crocodile Lake Weekend

Madeline and Claire in their matching floaties holding fishing worms.
Hammock was a hit.

Aunt Melanie's festive snacks. You can never have enough boiled peanuts!

if you look carefully you can see them down in the sandbox. Majority of time was spent there.

Just a 'Swangin'....

Uncle Bobby and Aunt Melanie had 4 little swings hung under the deck, 1 for each of the kids. 2 were big kid size and 2 were baby size. These were great entertainment, but the sandbox won out on favorites.

The hit of the weekend- the sandbox!

All the little cousins.... Claire, Madeline, Matthew & Blake.

Getting ready for a boat ride!

'Tooning' on the lake

The waves on the lake had Matthew, Claire and Madeline all asleep.

Aunt Nancy got one load......

And Uncle Bobby got another.

Love this picture of Matthew with Pop!
Mama Rene relaxing on the deck.

TV out on the deck in preparation for the Auburn game that night.

More swing time..... not sure why she still has on her floatie though.

Saturday night Matthew took a few falls trying to master the step down on the deck....
by Sunday morning he had a routine and learned to use a chair arm to get down. After that he was home free. Must have gone up and down that little step a hundred times!

Sweet cousins playing sweetly.

Caught One!- No, Two!!!

2 fish caught on the Barbie fishing pole!

in the sandbox again...

sandbox yet again.

.....wishing he could get down to the sandbox!
