Learning can be messy.....

Matthew is still trying to master the fork. He usually picks up a piece of food and places it on the fork and then eats it. He's still learning to use the fork without touching the food with his hand.
He made quite a big mess at dinner tonight....

Madeline was thoroughly grossed out.

Matthew singing his version of the Barney Theme Song.

Viking

Those of you who know Madeline well will not be surprised by this, but it was a little bit from left field. In the car today she asked if I could make a viking costume. What?!? I said no..... she said "well I decided that for my 8yr Halloween I want to be a girl viking that sings really really loud like LA LA LA LA LA LAAAAAAAAAAAAA and have a hat with horns."
Sigh.

New Mattress!

We got a new mattress set today after much price comparison. We're going to put the new set in Madeline's room and move her current set downstairs to the guest room. She tested out quite a few mattresses at the store and selected a pillowtop. Her first choice was a temperpedic but we aren't in the market for a $2300 mattress!
I'm so glad to finally be getting the guest room up and running. The bedframe is up, the pictures for the walls are hung. All that's left is hanging the big mirror over the dresser (I may have to call in reinforcements for that one), getting new sheets for the bed (mattress delivers on Tuesday) and putting up a window treatment. Whew. We moved in back in October but things are slowly coming together.
Now....... the bookcases downstairs and the many boxes of unpacked books and photo albums. Aunt Nancy we could use you on this organizational project!

Matthew's First School Party

This is Matthew saying that the banana he just bit off was "HOT!" ha ha

His first school party was an end of year party. He's moving up into the 2yr class on Tuesday.

Cheetos are always a hit.

They had peaches, Cheetos, bananas and fruit puffs.

Matthew took all o fhis Cheetos off his plate and lined them up on his napkin. He didn't want them touching the fruit puffs...... hello Jeff Jr!

They all got sand buckets, shovels, bubbles, stickers and gummies to take home.

The Pool Is Up!

Jeff put up the pool on the deck this past weekend and the kids have been in it every day! They LOVE it!

Look at that diaper! It soaked up an insane amount of pool water! ha ha He looks like he's wearing a bustle!

The next day we let the water out of it and put in the seal sprinkler. They thought that was high fun too!

Bowl Head

This was too funny to pass up, Matthew found out his noodle bowl fit just right on his head and he was running around on the deck wearing it. Of course he had really buttery hair afterwards..

Playing school on their nap mats in the hallway

Thanks Jeff!

Sweet Jeff picked this up for me! He even knew which one to get as there are two different covers out, one with Edward and one with Jacob. Madeline said "Mommy sure does love Edward, but not more than you Daddy." =)

We're In Trouble...

Matthew loves dogs. Both neighbors on either side of us have dogs in their back yards and Matthew LOVES to watch them. This is him trying so hard to watch one of them through the fence.

We are in trouble because I know the day is coming when he is going to want a puppy. Jeff, Madeline and I are not dog people. If anything, we've enjoyed not having animals in the house anymore..... we are more like goldfish people now! ha ha We'll see how this plays out.

This is him saying 'woof woof' to the dog through the fence and making sure I know there's a dog on the other side.

Noodles Noodles Everywhere

Matthew sat in the kitchen floor to polish off a big bowl of buttered noodles. He's learning to use a fork and spaghetti noodles got ALL OVER the kitchen floor and him.
