Buzz Lightyear cupcakes!

Matthew's real party was a Buzz Lightyear theme and we went cosmic bowling. I made his favorite, chocolate with chocolate icing and found Buzz Lightyear sprinkles!

The Class Party

So, the cake never fell out of the box onto the floor itself, so I flipped it back up and smoothed it out as well as I could and we took it to the class party anyway. Jeff said it looked more like a Loch Ness monster afterwards, oh well.

It tasted fine and the room full of 3yr olds didn't care one bit that it was smooshed

After it got cut I wasn't upset over it anymore. =)

Everyone's Been Waiting On This Post

Here it is. So Thursday I brought home the green dinosaur cake for Matthew's class party on Friday. We took 2 pictures of it and put it up on the counter. Matthew comes downstairs later with icing all over him and a chunk of cake in his hand, eating it and says 'Hi Guys!'. I found the cake upside down in the kitchen floor.
I came unglued.

Happy Birthday Matthew!

Three years ago this sweet baby boy was born! He is Mommy's Boy and so sweet! He was an easy birth and an easy baby. Life with a boy has been full of new things to do, different toys to play with and a whole new perspective!

Matthew loves his Sissy! This is her holding him for the first time. When she came into the hospital room she said 'Happy Birthday!'

Monet

Aunt Melanie and Uncle Bobby brought Madeline a Monet painting book from their vacation to England/Frace! She loves it and set up her watercolors at the kitchen table!

She's blending the blue/green/purple to do water.

Wednesday night fun

Matthew decided that the spatula was getting him no where with the brownie batter bowl, so he took matters into his own hands.

Sissy has learned at the YMCA summer camp how to make card castles. She's gotten pretty good! That's Jeff's in the back.

Ok, this was worth a picture. I found both of them sitting on the couch, each playing one of our iphones and happy as clams.

Happy 4th of July!

Watermelon is not a family favorite but we have it on 4th of July for tradition.

The fireworks were a hit this year! Particularly the smoke bombs (my personal fave), the cone showers and the black snake thingys.

3 walls went up today on the playhouse!

Nothing beats good cold ice cream on a hot 4th of July weekend! Dig in!

Ewwww

Jeff was a little wigged out to find the egg he cracked had 2 yolks. He went ahead and ate it. Then when he cracked one the next day it had 2 yolks as well. It is a little gross...

Fireworks!

The fireworks in Old Town were very good and the kids had a great time! They had bands and family fun in going on all day and I read that 2,000 people had attended. That's a lot for our little town!

We walked from the elementary school down to Old Town and watched for lightening bugs and also went in a new little shop that had just opened along the boardwalk that makes homemade sauces, jellies, etc. I got some honey raspberry jelly that was sooo good and Jeff got me some butter toffee peanuts.

Sweet Smelling

Matthew smells so sweet and clean after his baths. I like his wet hair combed like a little man when he gets out. I wanted to get a picture of him after his bath but he kept putting his head down to show his hair.

Freak Out!

Matthew does NOT like big round moon/sun faces! Not sure what the aversion is but he will tell you he does not like it at all.
This logo for Full Moon BBQ is one he really does not care for!

This sun that Mother made hangs over our stove. He wants it to be taken down and says he does not like it!

Then he showed us other things around the house like this that he doesn't like.....

He did not like the face on this Care Bear....

and he pulled me into Madeline's room to show me these Cabbage Patch dolls of mine and Julie's that Mother made. They are up on the shelf in Madeline's closet and he did NOT like them! I guess their faces look like those big sun/moons too!
