Mexico

Madeline's class is doing Christmas Around The World for their class party. Each child got to choose a country... I was hoping for England which would be so easy.... but Madeline chose Mexico. She said she chose it because she liked the sound of the 'x' and sound of the 'sco' in the word. She is so my child. Anway, each child has to make a poster about their country with facts- written by them- and pictures, come to the party dressed like is custom in their country (again England would be so easy) and bring an assigned food for the kids to try. We are assigned cinnamon tortillas. Instructions are to spray tortilla chips with butter, sugar and cinnamon and bake. Gag. I said it would be nice if we could just go to Taco Bell and buy the cinnamon twists..... Madeline said "Mommy! I didn't know Taco Bell was Mexico!!" ha ha

Pre-Thanksgiving

Today Jeff and I went to Madeline's school to eat Thanksgiving Lunch with her. (She opted for a pb&j sandwich from home).

Little Bookworm

Matthew's new favorite things are books. He loves loves to look at them and have them read to him. He will sit and look at each page. Two of his favorites are Big Dog Little Dog that he got from Aunt Anne and a little Hey Diddle Diddle that was Madeline's.

Green Light

Madeline was back on 'green light' today at school so she is picking her clothes out for tomorrow.

Not sure why all shirts have to be totally 'blank' right now as she calls it. She doesn't want any kind of picture or anything on the front.

toddlerhood

yep, found that Matthew had pulled this little stool over to the couch, climbed up on the couch and was sitting up there reading this little book. Freaked me out!

And yes, now we have had to remove the knobs from the oven/stove top because he also pulled that little stool up to the stove and tried to turn the knobs to see what they did. Welcome to toddlerhood.

Camp Out

today while the boys caught up on their naps Madeline and I played baby dolls. She wanted them to have a camp out, so we had to make pallets, a campfire, tell ghost stories and make them 'roast' marshmallows over the 'fire'. Then we topped it off with a trip to Wal-Mart while the babies took naps too. =)

Into EVERYTHING

Matthew likes to climb INTO the baskets, but he wants Mommy to get him OUT of the baskets...

He makes me a nervous wreck that he's going to fall and crack his head, and I know that he is going to get into worse that this little chair in the 'boy years' ahead!

He loves loves to crawl around in the bottom shelf of the built ins. I haven't put anything here yet since he likes to get in there so much. He thinks it's funny!

Too Pooped To Pop

Here's what I found when I pulled into the garage tonight. I thought it was a little quiet on the drive home, but Madeline konked out mid stream singing Christmas carols and eating jello- you can see it in her hand! ha ha

Wed night fun

Matthew discovered Madeline's dollhouse in the playroom. He loves to open and shut the door. I caught him earlier today feeding one of her Minne Mouse figures to his shark toy!

This is Matthew doing his cow noise. He has a little Hey Diddle Diddle book and when he sees the picture of the cow jumping over the moon he goes "mooooooooooo" with his lips out as far as he can push them. Too cute.

Mommy Day

School was closed today for Veteran's Day so Madeline and I had a Mommy Day and went shopping. Her new favorite store is Justice For Girls. She found a necklace with a big 'M' on it and tried to give me the puppy dog eyes to buy it. Didn't work since that plastic necklace was $7!! We did however go to Build-A-Bear for some new p.j's for her bear, ate lunch with a friend of hers at the mall and came home to make brownies. It was a fun girl day. =)

Vegetarian's Day

tonight in the car Madeline asked Jeff if tomorrow was really Vegetarian's Day. As soon as I made the connection I couldn't stop laughing. He told her it was Veteran's Day but that was close. ha ha ha She makes me smile.

Western Day and Spirit Day

Friday was Western Day at Matthew's school and Spirit Day (for Homecoming) at Madeline's. So, Madeline wore her KCS school shirt and attended the parade. Matthew wore his cowboy outfit, but would not let me get a good picture. The shirt was so cute too. Had his name on it and little cactus and cowboy boots. He also refused to wear the cowboy hat.
