We got no snow in this last storm but plenty of cruddy ice. This is how iced over our back deck and front steps were. Work and schools closed Mon and have delayed openings today and tomorrow.
The night the storm was coming through we were afraid we might lose power so we had firewood and staples ready. The kids were playing with their new flashlights which they loved!

I got to sit in on the gymnastics class last Monday for the first time. No wonder she is exhausted on Mondays after we get home! I couldn't do 1/4 of the exercises and running and jumping and rolling that they did for an hour straight!

Monday Madeline was still out of school so I took her and her friend Halli to see Tangled. It was such a good movie and now we have a new 'princess' to see at Disney World! The girls let me sit with them in the theater but I wasn't allowed to walk with them, I had to follow behind. ha ha
Last Saturday we all went up to Muscle Shoals to visit Heather. We ate at Chili's and then went to the mall. She and Madeline had a good time playing in the arcade.
Madeline took her ipod to listen to her music during the drive. She was singing Dolly Parton 9 to 5 very loudly! She fell asleep with the earbuds still in and the music playing.
My sweet husband took both kids out this weekend to the park so that I could have time at the house to clean and get Christmas decor put away. Thank you Jeff!
And what's a day at the park without taking stale bread to feed the ducks & geese?

Matthew loves to watch Buzz Lightyear and Woody on the Toy Story movies. This is him pretending to be Buzz.
The Monday after Christmas I got to meet up with one of my best friends from high school for lunch. She lives in Arizona but comes back each Thanksgiving and/or Christmas to visit family.
So funny, Jeff said that Matthew looked like Grover Dill from A Christmas Story in this outfit! ha ha
Nothing beats hot chocolate with marshmallows after playing in the snow.
Madeline's friend from next door came over and they played her new Nintendo game in the floor by the front door! ha ha
