Playdate

On Saturday Madeline had her friend Alyssa come over for a playdate. Can you tell from the above picture that she was excited? She sat in the floor to wait on her to arrive!

I took them a picnic lunch on a tray down to the playroom. They had a fun time!

hmpf.

Ok. I am all kinds of bent out of shape over the missing Goofy bench at Disney World. If you scroll down this page you'll see on the left hand side that we always do a picture with this bench/statue of Goofy at each Disney trip. AND NOW IT IS GONE. I have a good friend who is a Disney travel agent and she said she read that someone on a 'behind the scenes' tour saw it in a warehouse with a tarp on it. Doesn't bode well for my hope that it was just being cleaned or repainted.
We are going back to DW in October and now our beloved bench is gone. Jeff suggested that we buy a Goofy while we are there and use that to stage our own picture on either a different bench or on the curb where the old one was. We could then bring that Goofy each time for our picture. I just can't believe Disney has taken our bench away.... I intend to contact Guest Services at DW closer to our trip if it hasn't been put back. =(

Toy Story Scare

Madeline is going to kill me one day for posting this, but. Here's the background story to this picture. She wanted to watch Matthew's Toy Story 2 movie the other night and it's the one where the toys are scared of being thrown away or donated and wondering what they did wrong to make the little boy not love them or play with them anymore. When I put Madeline to bed she had to tell EVERY stuffed animal in her room goodnight and also called out a 'good night' to the ones downstairs. Odd. Then later on she came into our room with her arms FULL of animals (all the ones in the picture above) and wanted to sleep in there on her cot. I asked her what was wrong and she broke down into sobs about if I thought the toys I had cleaned out over the years were missing her and if they thought she didn't love them, etc etc. PITIFUL! I couldn't resist the picture after she finally fell asleep! What an imagination!

Zoo Fun!

Last year at the zoo we took pictures of Madeline and Matthew against this elephant height chart and I want to be sure to do it each time we go back to see how they've grown. Below are the pics from last year:

Last weekend we met cousins Amanda, Claire and Blake at the MGM zoo for a fun (hot!) morning. Matthew loved loved looking at all the animals. This is him and Jeff watching the kangaroos, he spent a long time with them.

They had a lot of misters out for people to walk through and cool off. It was over 100 degrees that day!

Birthday Aftermath

Are You Ready For Some Football!!

Sweet Matthew's 2nd birthday party was a football theme. MaMaw sent this cute picture/frame in his present!

I did individual cupcakes and put them together to make a football then frosted over the top. The astroturf on the table was a cute touch!

Had to have Gatorade to keep in the football theme!

We did football/tailgate type food. Grilled hotdogs! The kids were starving by the time they stopped playing long enough to eat. This are cousins Claire and Blake.

Matthew and Blake are only 4 months apart. So sweet to have little cousins so close in age.

MaMaw sent Matthew a package with tons of stuff in it and included were some Little Golden Books. This one about the dump truck got a lot of mileage at the party. The boys loved it!

Matthew was also getting everyone to read him the Dora Birthday book that was in Madeline's room. If you'll read to him, Matthew will gladly sit in your lap for the duration.
