Thanksgiving Crafts

The kids sat at the table and colored some Thanksgiving coloring sheets for us to hang.

Dee painted this turkey in 1979. I love to use this for Thanksgiving decoration on the table.

More Practice

Matthew wants to ride so bad! He runs along with Madeline while she practices. We let him 'ride' a little while Jeff rested.

They were worn out! They fell asleep together and holding on to each other. So Sweet.

Cauousel

For Matthew's 3rd birthday I'm thinking about doing a carousel party at the Galleria... They have a birhday party package where the kids get to ride as many times at they want during the party. Matthew loved the carousel so much at Disney I thought this would be fun. Jeff is not convinced.

We went to ride this week to see how he liked it. Of course he was squealing the whole time and shouting hello to the people eating around it. They had taken down the normal animals and replaced them with all reindeers and sleighs for the holiday season but he didn't care.

Happy as a clam.

Sissy chose a sleigh instead of a reindeer.

Matthew was too beside himself to keep from looking around at anything so I couldn't get a good picture of them together. He jumped in the sleigh once the ride stopped and wanted to go again. Now I'm on the hunt for carousel themed party goods. =)

Latest Canvas

This is the latest canvas that Madeline did in her art lessons after school. Didn't she do a great job! I love the little Christmas lights winding around the light pole and the snowy little branches. She did a great job blending her background and the snowman's body too.

Rite Of Passage

This week Madeline has removed the training wheels from her bike. Yes, she is 7 and we are just now getting around to doing this, but better late than never right?

We started off in the backyard, then moved to the sidewalk out front which turned out to be on a slant.....

so we moved to the walking trail down by our subdivision. She had a great practice run, I hope she'll get the hang of it in a few more weeks. We can only practice on the weekends with the days being dark by the time we get home from school/work now.

Oops. Chain broke. Luckily Jeff is a bicycle fixer! ha ha

Saturday Fun

On Saturday I went up to Madison to visit with some of my best friends from high school. It was great to see everyone! We spent a good afternoon visiting and then went to spend the night at Sue's.

The kids love going to MaMaw's. Matthew terrorizes her cat!

Boosterthon Fun Run

Friday was the Boosterthon Fun Run at Madeline's school, in the 45 degree morning hour.

But she did a great job and ran 30 laps! Broke her record from last year of 26 laps.

She got to do a 'friend lap' with her friend Bella and they played good 80's music for the parents.

Cornucopia

Last week Madeline helped put together the cornucopia for the dining room table. She's a good organizer!

Didn't she do a good job!

Thanksgiving Prep

This week we are getting our Thanksgiving decorations out. Madeline and I are going to work on a cornucopia for the kitchen table. I asked her about what kind of things she was going to list to be thankful for this year and she said "I'm going to be thankful for being thankful." Wise girl.

Disney Princess On Ice

Wednesday night a friend from work took our girls to see Disney Princess On Ice.

Getting ready to head out. All the little girls wore their princesses costumes to the show.

Getting a sno cone in a souvenir cup.

Mommy & Madeline.

Callie and Madeline watching the princesses skate.

Day After Halloween

The kids put on costumes again on Sunday to go visit Dee. She thought they were very cute!

Then we headed over to the church for their 'Trunk-or-Treat'. She couldn't wear her devil costume to a church function so she chose to go as a princess for this day.
At the Trunk-or-Treat everyone that participated staged their vehicle to hand out candy and the kids go from car to car. One station was set up with a fire pit, spears and marshmallows and the kids got to roast a marshmallow as they walked through. Madeline loved this!

She told everyone that she ate her marshmallow while it still had fire on it!

Matthew did NOT care for the inflatable jump. He is crying and trying to ge out in this picture.

Poor little guy.

Happy Halloween!!

This Halloween we had a She-Devil....

and a Jr. Superman!

So excited to get out and hit the subdivision up for candy!

Before we left they sat outside to give out candy to anyone who came out early. We had 2 before we left.

Inspecting the candy bowl on the front steps.

We met up with Madeline's friend Halli and her family on the other end of the subdivision.

Matthew tried to squeeze into everyone's house when they opened the door! He would also sing "Trick or treat, smell my feet" over and over.

Halli has a little brother, Jack, who is in Matthew's class.

Madeline had a lot of fun trick-or-treating with a friend.

Madeline and Halli each share 1/2 of a Best Friends necklace. They wanted a picture of them putting the two halves together.

Back at home it was time to dump out the loot and inspect it all.

They made quite a haul.

Happy Halloween!!!
