Fishing

This morning I heard odd sounds in the garage and found Madeline down there practicing her casting with her Barbie fishing rod. The rubber flower float thing on the end of the line was hitting the garage door...
So we moved it out to the driveway. She's ready for Crocodile Lake!!

Up Up And Away!

Matthew had fun running up and down the hall in his Superman pjs and red cape! He even took his Superman car from Aunt Melanie and Uncle Bobby along for the ride!

Little Boys....

Tornado!

Friday evening we had to all get into our Operation Storm Watch room under the stairs due to tornados! We had two back to back come close to us, one touched down in Alabaster, which where Matthew's daycare is. We had black skies, hail, thunder, lightening, high winds, the whole nine yards.
Thanks goodness for iphones and Goldfish snacks to occupy time!

Career Day

Career Day is this Thursday. Madeline is making a poster about being an artist and she is dressing like an artist for school that day. She has to present her poster and talk about being an artist in front of her class.

Egg Hunt!

On Saturday we went to MaMaw's in Decatur to have an egg hunt with our cousins. Matthew gorged himself on the canteloupe..... and snuck quite a few jelly beans.
Sidney and Madeline would spend 24hrs playing nonstop if they had the chance.

We went to the park to hunt eggs!

Emily.

Hanna.

Madeline and Sid would discuss strategy along the way for finding the prize eggs.

Matthew decided towards the end that he was going to switch from egg hunting to pinecone gathering!

Emily and Madeline.

Hanna and Matthew.

Can you see the excitement on Matthew's face???!!!! They all had a ball!

Matthew loves pirates, especially the new Disney channel cartoon Jake and the Neverland Pirates. So, we got him some chocolate coins that we call doubloons to use for potty prizes!

Our Backyard

Our carrots have sprouted! Squint and you can see them!
Gram's/Dee's iris are begining to bloom! Those are Mother's tiger lillies in the background.

I'm glad my sweet little bird didn't get broken in the recent hail storm!

These are our new stepping stones. Madeline picked them out because she said they looked like owls.

Roses are blooming. Thanks to Aunt Betty for her advice on the brown spot they came down with.

My Saint Francis statue among the roses. That brick to the left is from Dee's house in Leeds.

Isn't it pretty!

Jeff grilled up a yummy dinner too!

Thursday morning garbage pick up is exciting at our house!

Madeline's Writing Folder

Madeline brought her writing folder home to work on a report so I looked through the others that were in there. These 3 were so cute and sweet I had to share. I love where she says rainbows are like colors falling from the sky.......... and the one where she tried to bite the Milky Way thinking it would be chocolate! ha ha

Not too sure what Matthew will think of being called a 'chubby monkey'! ha ha

Weekend Warriors

This weekend we remulched the bed in the back yard and planted blueberry, strawberry, raspberry, blackberry, carrots, cucumbers, bell peppers, jalepeno peppers and cantaloupe. The vegetables are in the planters so Jeff couldn't make the yard look like Pet Cemetary again.
These are Gram's (by way of Dee) iris with Mother's tiger lillies in the background. The new strawberry is between them.

The rosebushes with tiger lillies in between. We staked solor lights around the beds and out in between the evergreens in the backyard.

I'm proud of my new blackberry bush.

And the gardenia by the front door smells wonderful!
