It's gettting there

Today Madeline helped me transplant Mother's tiger lilies (Jeff dug the hole for us). I'm leaving the ones in the planters as is until next Spring when I can make sure these took. Now, where to plant Dee's Iris.... since this yard was landscaped they have this thick paper under all the mulch everywhere. Keeps out weeds but makes it hard to add anything new in.

Roses Roses Everywhere

Madeline loves the roses growing in the backyard, she helped prune them today. These were two she picked to keep on her 'desk' where she plays teacher/principal. Matthew also got acquainted with the roses, the thorns that is, today. He fell on one and got thorns stuck in his shins and scratched his ear. Can't seem to keep him from getting scratched up!!

So we went back to the old house for the last time and Jeff got all out of the attic..... and here it is in all it's glory taking up most of the garage. Let's see, boxes containing every note I exchanged with friends from 8th-12th grade, Daddy's old Stetson hat, Mother's wedding dress, trunks of high school stuff, countless (seriously) boxes of Elvis Presley parafanalia that is quickly going to be sold on ebay.... and on and on.

War Eagle=free lunch!

Today we went to Chick-Fil-A for free chicken sandwiches to anyone who wore their fave team clothes. Madeline, Matthew and I all were in Auburn of course. Jeff had to be odd man out in FSU, we can't seem to convert him.
The crowds were so crazy there that we likened it to eating with the crowds at Disney! =)

and I told a semi whopper of a lie to Madeline.... she wanted to play in the playcenter they have in there like we usually do but the crowds were so bad and we were soooo ready to get out by then...... I told her that they weren't allowing anyone else in there right now or the firemen would come and make everyone leave, and then kept digging deeper as I went on to explain about every building have a limit on how many people could be in there before the firemen would come, maximum capacity and all that. I know, bad parenting.

and then home in time for some quick chalking in the driveway before going to a Labor Day cook out with some of Jeff's work friends and their kids.

Guess Who's Coming To Our House Tonight......

......the Tooth Fairy! Madeline lost another tooth tonight. It has been loose for over a week and she has worked it and worked it. This one bled some but she was oblivious, she was so excited!!
First thing she did was stick her tongue in it, so no gold tooth again. She's going to try hard next time! ha ha



This is her Tooth Fairy doll. The tooth goes in her little pouch she holds and the doll can be placed wherever to await the real Tooth Fairy. Madeline already has her tucked securely under her pillow for bedtime. (Matthew has one as well that is a little pirate and the tooth goes into a treasure chest he holds. Too cute.)

Top Banana

Madeline is Top Banana this coming week at school. She got to bring Curious George home in a pet carrier, read a book about him and watch a movie about him. She had to take care of him for the weekend and then every day next week at school he sits on her desk. She also got to make a poster all about her that will hang in the classroom all week as the class learns about her. I had no idea she so aspired to be a rock star! She answered more than one question with that! =)

Ride 'Em Cowboy

Matthew is finally big enough and steady enough on his feet to get the zebra out. I got this for him back in March and have been waiting to get him on it! He loved it! Loves to bounce on it!!

House update:

As many of you already know, we did sell our house and we close on 9/15. In the mean time we have now bought another house- that we love- and are trying to close on it back to back with ours, hopefully on the same day. We have until 9/30 to move out of our current house. The people we bought from moved to Dothan and are ready to be out now, they are just waiting on us. Yea! They moved due to a work transfer and since they didn't know they would be moving they (luckily for us) had the back yard professionally landscaped and did a lot of work on the inside with architectual things like arches, ledges, built in bookshelves, etc. The house is only 4yrs old, it has a back deck, 4 bedrooms, playroom, den/media room, etc. We can't wait to move in and are so ready for some extra 'space'.
Madeline will finish out first grade at private school, continue with their summer program and then start 2nd grade in the public school system we moved to which is a great one!
All of the paint colors in the house are great except that we promised Madeline she could have a pink bedroom and could pick the shade she wants..... this should be fun! ha ha As Ma-Maw says we may end up with Pepto Bismal pink! =)
